Men’s Leadership does it again! Recognized a community need and filled it. The Windward Spouse Abuse Shelter was in desperate need of new plant boxes for their residents. It’s been years since plants and vegetables flourished in their plant boxes. With new plant boxes the women and children will be able to grow their own vegetables and contribute to their own purpose of being more independent and increasing self esteem. This shelter has served our community for more than 20 years and influenced thousands of women.
With the help of fellow Men’s Leadership members, Dennis Lewis and Evan Knight, we were able to build 3 plant boxes, deliver, and set up all in one day. It’s amazing what a group of committed individuals can do! The shelters’ manager, Tamber, was ecstatic with joy and appreciation for what Men’s Leadership has done. We were amazed at what was accomplished that day, the lives we have touched, and contributing to a community need. We are so very grateful for all of the support, knowledge, suggestions, and down right “elbow grease” that people put into this project. Thanks to all who volunteered and to Dennis Lewis for allowing us to use his house to build the boxes!
